Etsy - your place to buy and sell all things handmade, es un marketplace online que nació en 2005 en Nueva York. La idea: un sitio donde artistas y artesanos independientes pudieran mostrar su talento creando cosas a mano. En estos tiempos en los que casi todo es hecho en masa, Etsy apuesta por la mano artesana.
En Estados Unidos está la mayoría de vendedores y compradores, por razones obvias. Pero hay miles de tiendas de muchísimas partes del mundo. La web está en inglés, es por eso que el Etsy in Spanish Team fue creado, para que nosotros los hispanohablantes, tengamos un rinconcito donde expresarnos en nuestro propio idioma. Y para ayudar a los compradores hispanos en el proceso de compra.
¿Cómo comprar en Etsy? Una vez registrado (tendrás un nombre de usuario), y luego de haber encontrado tu artículo favorito (pero seguro habrá más de uno!), lo agregas a tu carrito de compra. Los pasos son muy sencillos, pero seguramente la primera vez tendrás muchas dudas. No te preocupes que te ayudaremos. Cada tienda establece su política, por lo que tienes que leer muy bien la información que te indican. Los métodos de pago usuales son: money order, cheque (muy populares dentro de Estados Unidos), tarjeta de crédito y PayPal. Una vez hecho el pago y con el plazo de envío establecido, a esperar al cartero! Que si un bolso desde Canadá, que si pendientes desde Singapur, que si libretas desde Bélgica... A comprar se ha dicho!

The site is in English, and that´s the reason why the Etsy in Spanish Team was created. For us, Spanish-speaking people, to have a little place where we can enjoy Etsy in our native tongue. And to help Spanish-speaking buyers as well.
How to shop at Etsy? Once you´re registered (you´ll have a username) and with your favorite item at sight (we bet you´ll have more than one!), add it to your shopping cart. The steps you´ll need to follow are very simple, but maybe you´ll have doubts with your first transaction. Don´t panic, we´ll help you! Each store sets up their own shop policies, so read them very carefully. The usual payment methods are: money order, check (these are very popular within the US), credit card and PayPal. Once the payment has been completed and the turnaround fixed, just wait for the mailman! A tote from Canada, earrings from Singapore, notebooks from Belgium... Let´s go shopping!
